ingredients:
for the red velvet pancakes:
- 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 scoop simply tera’s pure bourbon vanilla whey protein powder
- 2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 tbsp all natural red food gel
for the cream cheese glaze:
- 6 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 scoop simply tera’s pure bourbon vanilla whey protein powder
- 1/3 cup milk
directions:
- Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and simply tera’s pure bourbon vanilla whey protein to a large mixing bowl. Whisk well, then set aside.
- In another large mixing bowl or jug, whisk together milk, vinegar, eggs, sugar, melted butter, and red food gel.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and whisk to combine to make the red velvet pancake batter.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet on medium heat and add a bit of butter. Lower the heat to medium-low, then pan fry the pancakes.
- While the pancakes cook, make the cream cheese glaze by combining all ingredients with simply tera’s® bourbon vanilla pure whey protein. Whisk well until pale and creamy.
- Stack the pancakes on a plate, drizzle with the cream cheese glaze, and enjoy.
