red velvet pancakes with cream cheese glaze

ingredients:

for the red velvet pancakes:

  • 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 scoop simply tera’s pure bourbon vanilla whey protein powder
  • 2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 tbsp all natural red food gel

for the cream cheese glaze:

directions:

  1. Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and simply tera’s pure bourbon vanilla whey protein to a large mixing bowl. Whisk well, then set aside.
  2. In another large mixing bowl or jug, whisk together milk, vinegar, eggs, sugar, melted butter, and red food gel.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and whisk to combine to make the red velvet pancake batter.
  4. Heat a large non-stick skillet on medium heat and add a bit of butter. Lower the heat to medium-low, then pan fry the pancakes.
  5. While the pancakes cook, make the cream cheese glaze by combining all ingredients with simply tera’s® bourbon vanilla pure whey protein. Whisk well until pale and creamy.
  6. Stack the pancakes on a plate, drizzle with the cream cheese glaze, and enjoy.
