I’m no expert on stress or meditation, but whenever I’m feeling frazzled, I try to go through this list of 5 things to minimize my stress levels. Some of these tips were taught to me, and others are things  I do to increase my positive mood. So far, these things have worked for me. I hope they will work for you too!

Eat Well

 

 

Some days you’re in a rush to get out of the house. There is no time to pack a healthy lunch and eat a well-balanced breakfast. These days are the toughest to treat your body right. When I’m in a crunch and I don’t get all of the nutrition I need, I use a tera’swhey® protein shake to get me going. Count Your Blessings

It’s easy to think of all the things you want to accomplish in a day. It’s even easier to take each of these things for granted. Try to take a couple minutes each day to think about everything you’re thankful for. You might be surprised with the ways your perspective changes.

Unplug

The majority of my stress comes from being attached to something (or someone) every second of the day. Take a few minutes away from your computer, cell phone, radio, TV, or iPad: unplug. Sometimes it’s necessary to unplug for a few hours, and sometimes you’ll only need a few minutes.

Sit Up Straight.

Sitting up straight might sound like a silly way to minimize stress. Throughout the day, I find myself slouching over my computer and feeling sloth-like. If this is something you struggle with too, try to sit up straight a few times a day. Your posture will thank you later.

Go for a Walk.

Exercise is a great way to minimize stress throughout the day. Whether you take a walk during your lunch break or after you get home from a long day of work, the benefits are numerous.

(Taking a walk could also be a great time to unplug from your technology for a little while, as recommended in point 3)
