Re-energize your workout playlist

I’m always looking for new music to spice up my workout playlist. But sometimes it’s a challenge to find good workout tunes that aren’t Top 40. I’ve complied some of my favorite jams to help you freshen up your playlist. Enjoy!

1. Arctic Monkeys – “The View from the Afternoon” (I like this one for the treadmill).

2. Three Days Grace – “Riot” (Great for weightlifting or running).

3. The Kooks – “She Moves in her Own Way” (I really like this one for running outside especially in the spring. Uplifting! )

4. Hollywood Undead – “California” (This one gets me pumped for weightlifting or when I’m playing basketball)

5. John Mayer – “Bigger than my Body” (I think I listened to this song every time I ran outside on the University of Twin Cities campus. Running along the Mississippi River made me feel empowered and I really did feel bigger than my body)

6. Skylar Grey – Back from the Dead ft. Big Sean, Travis Barker

7. Kayne West – “Stronger” (Ok this may have been in the Top 40 at one point but I couldn’t resist).

8. The Darkness – “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” (Beware: you might sing along…and dance. But dancing is a workout so that’s ok!)

9. O.A.R. – “Love and Memories” (Motivation to keep going on those lazy days)

10. The Thrills – “Big Sur”

11. Phoenix – “1901”

12. Regina Spektor – “All the Rowboats”

13. Florida Georgia Line – “This is How We Roll”

14. My Chemical Romance – “Helena”

15. Lupe Fiasco – “Coming Up” (This one made me skip down the street)

16. Owl City – “Bombshell Blonde”

17. Timeflies – “Everything I do”

18. Hoodie Allen – “Eighteen Cool” (Hoodie Allen is one cool guy and his music always gets me pumped).

19. Cassadee Pope – “Stand” (I like Cassadee’s cover of this better than the original by Rascal Flatts).

20. Lifehouse ft. Natasha Bedingfield – “Between the Raindrops” (The chorus is my favorite but I also love her voice).

21. Ellie Goulding – “I Need your Love” (Ellie is an avid runner- no wonder her songs are perfect for a workout)

22. DJ Snake ft. Lil Jon – “Turn Down for What”

23. Bastille – “Bad Blood”

24. AVICII – “Addicted to You”

25. Kat Perkins – “Get Lucky” (Kat was a contestant on the Voice and did an awesome rendition of this Daft Punk song)
