Power Protein Brownies

Power Protein Brownies

Healthify one of your favorite dessert staples with this recipe that is so simple even we couldn’t mess it up! These delicious morsels contain about 2 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein, putting basic brownies to shame! Make these and we promise they will be a crowd pleaser—everyone in our office thinks so!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp flax meal
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 cup white whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 scoops tera’swhey dark chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt

2/3 cup of dates (blended)

  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 1/3 cups unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 cup chopped nuts (we chose almonds!)
  • ½ cup mini semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9-by-9-inch pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Blend dates and 2 tablespoons of water into a paste in a blender or food processor. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, flax meal, cocoa powder, protein powder, baking soda, salt, and oats.
  4. Add the applesauce, dates (blended) and vanilla, then mix until a thick dough forms.
  5. Press the batter into the pan, top with nuts and chocolate chips, and bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
