I Scream for [N]ice Cream!

Who’s ready for a cool summer treat without the guilt? I’m all for indulging, but sometimes I catch myself wanting to dive into an entire pint of ice cream. It’s all about balance. On days when all you want is a heaping bowl of heavenly sweetness, turn that ice cream into NICE cream! Plus, nothing mixes in better than a protein-packed scoop of tera’swhey® protein—so much chocolatey goodness. This recipe is perfect for dessert or a post-workout recovery snack. Or, who says you can’t have it with your breakfast?

Here’s what you’ll need:

3 medium bananas, frozen

1 Scoop of tera’swhey Organic Fair Trade Certified™ Dark Chocolate Cocoa Protein Powder

1/8-1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp peanut butter (or more to taste)

Directions:

  1. Freeze bananas. Freezer tip: peel and chop bananas into thirds prior to freezing, put them in a freezer-safe bag, and allow several hours to freeze (the more, the better for nice cream!) This eliminates the need to cut off frozen banana peels later on.
  2. Add all ingredients to a food processor. Some blenders also work if they’re able to process thick substances. Start with 1/8 cup of almond milk. If after blending it needs more liquid, add more almond milk—up to 1/4 cup total.
  3. Pulse for a few seconds at a time, stirring in between, until you reach a smooth, creamy consistency.
  4. Grab a spoon and enjoy!
