Aging | Be Well. Be Vibrant.
Having concerns about your aging body? Wondering what you can do to take care of yourself now? There are many factors that influence each person’s unique aging process, but regardless of who you are, healthy lifestyle choices can positively impact your body as you age. Here are some tips to stay healthy through the aging process:
Your Body Should Be Your First Priority
You only have one body; Give it your best! This all comes down to balance—plenty of activity, good nutrition, and rest. Give yourself moments to take a deep breath and relax. Whether you like to meditate, do yoga, or read, take the opportunity to de-stress. Your body will thank you later!
Healthy Diet and Exercise
Good eating and exercise habits can mean healthy aging! Exercise can make you feel better mentally and physically. It’s a sure-fire way to check that your body is working properly and a great way to support your heart, lungs, and bones!
As early as the fourth decade of life, you can experience age-related muscle loss called sarcopenia. Adults can reduce this age-related loss with resistance exercise and by consuming a high-protein diet. Plus, dairy proteins, including whey, have a greater positive effect on muscle than other protein sources when consumed during or after resistance training.* Along with eating those fruits and veggies, make sure you’re eating a balanced diet and add tera’swhey® to get more protein-packed fuel in your day to benefit those aging muscles.
Protect Your Skin
Apply sunscreen generously and often to avoid unwanted skin damage. Also, consider bringing a hat, an oversized t-shirt, or light sweater with you on your outdoor adventures to keep your skin away from too much of that UV light.
Did your teacher tell you to keep that positive mental attitude (PMA) in grade school? Well, your teacher was right! What’s life without a lot of love and laughter? Keep your friends close, and stay active in your community. What better way to stay young than by staying young at heart?
Be Well. Be Vibrant.
Most importantly, love your body. Aging well means having confidence, a healthy self-image, and loads of self-love. Try to be grateful, embrace your figure, and enjoy being you!
